Pantophobia. Not the fear of pants…
From Doctor Who Series 6: Night Terrors
X-23: one of the most interesting of the newer mutants in the world of the X-Men. And one of my most favorite X-Men.
Favorite quotes from Sam Winchester.
“I am Andrew Ryan, and I am here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? ‘No,’ says the man in Washington, ‘it belongs to the poor.’ ‘No,’ says the man in the Vatican, ‘it belongs to God.’ ‘No,’ says the man in Moscow, ‘it belongs to everyone.’ I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose Rapture. A city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, where the great would not be constrained by the small. And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city, as well.”
Sometimes I’ll put this game on just to re-watch this opening sequence on my big-screen in all its beautiful perfection. One of the absolute best opening scenes in anything ever. Beautiful, terrifying, and powerful all at once.
“Every 5 minutes there’s somethin’, a bomb or somethin’. I’m leavin’. bzzzz.”
I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating: If you don’t understand my love of this movie, then we really shouldn’t be friends.
